Renewed belief in goodness and grace
Today was a tough day. I got confirmation that the company that I shed blood for has "eliminated my position" while I am on medical leave. Many people that I believed in and swore by their integrity and loyalty have sold their souls to the devil. Lives are torn apart, incomes stolen and friendships thrown away. Aware that the betrayals would affect me, we have spruced up the house and put it on the market--complete with fresh camellias from the yard to make it look perfect. How wonderful it was to go to the mailbox right after the call from a emotionless HR person and have a painting from my SWAP (Sharing with Artist Partner). It looks as if an angel stopped by and painted the very flowers I had just placed around my house. It could not have come at a better time.
Please enjoy the GRACE in both the photo and the painting. I am filled with gratitude for both.

Lisa, I am so sorry you got caught in the downsizing (what a horrible word!) and cannot believe this story of synchronicity in this painting and your flowers. SWAPs have been known to raise spirits and come at just the right time and this one seems to have done that! Wishing you the best outcome to this situation.
Lisa - I've never had a knockback which didn't turn out to be a blessing in disguise. It may very well feel a bit like a roller coaster right now but if you look to the future with a positive frame of mind (and keep sketching!) then you'll fall on your feet and wonder why you ever had feelings like these. Painting is a wonderful balm as well as acting as a stimulant for your creative muscles.
Lisa, Thank you for sharing that with me. We can look at the many good things that come out of the stress and unpredictable behaiviors of others. My blessing is I am now able to have you for a friend. Lets keep in touch and call anytime. Cheryl
LisaLou - You always amaze me with how you journey thru life. You are forever looking for the good in the not so good. You inspire me to continually look for the good as well. Love you - :)
Lisa,
I went through the same "Your position has been eliminated" turmoil. I had just gotten back from my second sabbatical, and was told. Geez.
That was in October, 07. I've started my own web design biz, and making journals for sale. Ain't the same salary, but a LOT more fulfilling!!
Take care, It'll all come out in the wash.
