Aubrey, Texas

This weekend is Aubrey's famous Peanut Festival. I thought it was time for me to sketch a few things in my own back yard. We live a block away from these sites on Aubrey's sleepy Main Street. Included is a mostly abandoned strip of stores, the little old church on the corner that is now an event place, the closed down Peanut Factory and how about that quaint Police Station!

Your buildings are great! I especially like the old factory, the one with the railroad in front, for the way you've handled the colors in the building and plants. Buildings are tough to get right - Good Job!

You've done a great job and when those buildings are gone you'll be glad to have the memory of them.

Neat sketches! Looks like a perspective workout to keep it all straight, or should I say slanted. Looks much like some small Kansas towns, too.

Great set of sketches! It's nice to get a "taste of Aubrey": to see where my friend has gone too :)

The first drawing reminds me of how my hometown (Denison, TX) looked the last time I saw it. Wish I had thought to draw it. Your series is great.

These sketches are so charming--- I can tell that you really love where you live. And the sketches and posts about Crystal Mesa Farm were very tempting---what a gorgeous place! No wonder you want to be there forever!

I'm sorry to hear much of the main street is abandoned. Your drawings, however, give it lots of life. Looks like a great place to be!
